Things I Love Thursday (But on Friday)

Posted by & filed under Daily Life, Pretty Things.

I tried posting last night, but my site was down. Anyway, here we go… My brand new nephew, Tyler! He was born on January 13 at 12:06pm. I may be biased, but he’s perfect, really! Hehe. While he’s technically not the only thing I’ve been loving this week, he’s the only one I really care… Read more »

My Niece

Posted by & filed under Daily Life, Photography.

I babysat my niece today and before nap time (hers, not mine ) I grabbed my camera to take a few shots while we played. I’m slowly becoming more comfortable with the various manual settings on my camera, though by no means am I anything but amateur! Still fun to play though.

Birthday Dinner

Posted by & filed under Daily Life.

Last night I had my birthday dinner with family, even though my actual birthday in on Thursday. One of my sister’s and her son are away at school camp this week so I had an early celebration so they could attend. We went a local restaurant that was mostly good — a few meals were… Read more »

Laughter is the best medicine

Posted by & filed under Daily Life, Mind & Body, Music, Film & Books.

I’ve had a very uneventful weekend, which is just the way I wanted it! Yesterday I got to spend about one and a half hours playing with my 7-month-old niece while her big brother and mama did some gardening. She’s the most delightful creature! I get so much joy from making her laugh and seeing… Read more »

Your faux-leather jacket makes my heart weak

Posted by & filed under Daily Life, Mind & Body.

This past week has been exhausting, though I’ve not actually done that much. I have low iron again, which fortunately is not very low, but low enough to need prescribed iron pills. I’ve always had trouble retaining iron so it’s nothing new to me; it just means I get tired easily and feel a little… Read more »

Today has been quite good. My mum’s cousin has come up from Christchurch to stay for about a week, so we went and got her from the airport, with my grandma in tow. Then we drove over to North Shore Hospital to visit Mum’s cousin’s mother/grandma’s sister, who is very sick. Mum and I just… Read more »

101 things in 1001 days

Posted by & filed under 101 in 1001.

Bits of tree keep flying at me! That is a hazard of using my computer in the car on a windy day, I suppose. I have finally started and uploaded my 101 in 1001 days list. It’s not complete yet but I wanted to get it public and up and all that. I’m quite excited… Read more »

Grandparents

Posted by & filed under Daily Life.

I love being close to my grandparents. I have three that are still living and I am fortunate enough to be able to spend significant time with all of them. Two grandmothers that impart knowledge on many subjects from cooking to values to life lessons and more, and one grandfather that imparts knowledge on pretty… Read more »

Who’s got an energy drink?

Posted by & filed under Daily Life.

Note: I wrote this yesterday but forgot to publish it to the blog, so you’re getting it now. I’m feeling decidedly unmotivated today, which presents problems as I need to finish packing my belongings up this weekend and want to help my mum with stuff as well. We move on the 19th so it would… Read more »

No Victory For Me

Posted by & filed under Fashion & Beauty.

I’m going out for dinner tonight so I attempted to do a couple of victory rolls in my hair but failed miserably. It’s now is a bun. However, my point is this: Goddamnit, I just wanna do them in my hair! Why can’t I do them? Oh my God! Insert whining here. Oh, well. In… Read more »
