About

Hi! Basically, I’m a psychology student at the University of Auckland, with an interest in clinical psychology, particularly for child and adolescent age groups. I’m not entirely sure if being a psychologist is what I want to do for my career and I think I want my own business designing epic stuff. Mostly I’m just a typical 20-something that doesn’t really know which direction to go in! This blog chronicles that, as well as my daily life and my creative persuits.

Aside from attempting to have a career, I want to be a mama some day and live a comfortable and fun life doing things I love! Actually, the only reason I want a career, or at least a decent job, is so I can fund having babies and other fun things. If I were horribly rich I would be a stay-at-home-mommy-blogger-philanthropist-genius. Der. NB: Don’t go thinking I’m not a feminist because I would choose to have babies and stay at home to raise them. I’m not getting a minor in sociology for nothing! Feminism is about choice and I’m also perfectly aware that being a mother is not the only thing I want to do. However, it is going to be one of the most important things I ever do and I’d like to do it in whatever ways I find best.

One topic you will read lots about is my family. I adore them more than words can say and am incredibly blessed with awesome parents, siblings, the most amazing nieces and nephews, and my boyfriend who is made of epic win.

Anyway, I’m a thrift store junky and spend my spare time searching for perfect vintage pieces, making stuff, reading, hanging out, catching up on an overwhelming list of blogs, watching movies and daydreaming.

I Like Lists

Other stuff you should probably know:

  • I adore music and listen to a great variety of genres, but some of my faves include Bon Iver, The Black Keys, Arcade Fire, Lady Gaga, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jeff Buckley and The Mars Volta.
  • I like to watch films, all sorts of films, especially ones no one has ever heard of. I also have a weak spot for superhero movies and romantic comedies (the ones that don’t suck, anyway).
  • I make stuff, all sorts of stuff. Like teddy bears, clothes, and…things.

Lastly, I will die happy if I accomplish the following:

  • Graduate university and use my knowledge well.
  • Help other living beings, human and non-human, in a variety of ways.
  • Fall in love. Real in-love, not maybe in-love or I-think-but-am-not-100%-sure in-love. The real sort. Whatever that is. Done!
  • Have my own family, in our own house, with our own quirks and traditions. Aw, mushy.
  • Travel. I will not die without seeing the world and I’d especially love to take my future kids abroad as much as I can.
  • Maintain my own peace and happiness throughout all my days, through all the hard times, good times and the life that threads itself through everything.
