Hurrah, one week down. Not without bumps however…

Day 1 – my view: very messy living room (it’s still messy but the coffee table is different!).

Day 2 – words: ‘Bokung Collection’ on my most favourite bag.

Day 3 – hands: my fingers (close enough…) after my manicure. Black with gold tips!

Day 4 – a stranger: I had to get…inventive…here. I didn’t leave the house that day and as such, saw no strangers. I resorted to taking a snap of a random woman on TV, instead. It was a show about her and this guy meeting in Ibiza and getting it on in the toilet of a club, then going back to England after their respective holidays and ‘losing touch’. They both wanted to get ‘back in touch’ and so I guess resorted to going on television in order to do so? I am not sure how their story ended. Probably with more sex in bathrooms.

Day 5 – 10am: This was 10:16am on Sunday just as I sat down to eat breakfast (scrambled – non-green – eggs and ham. Sam I am.).
Day 6 – dinner: Is missing because I forgot to take a photo of my dinner after I had remembered, while cooking it, that I needed to. Then I was going to take a photo of Josh’s plate of dinner when he got home from karate, but I forgot again. Then I was going to take a photo of the dirty dishes from dinner but thought ‘Nah’.

Day 7 – button: two buttons from my fuzzy grey cardigan.
So, that is this week, in photos, somewhat. They are pretty shite, and by that I mean I don’t put much thought into taking them. I read the brief and find the nearest thing that fits and voila. I’m glad I’m not doing that photo challenge where you work on photography techniques (I am too lazy to find that link, but just about everyone on my Twitter is doing it). Maybe I should be doing that one though.
Tomorrow, it better be sunny.

Photo challenge by Fat Mum Slim
I’ve decided to participate in a photo challenge this month. I know, everyone and their dog is doing it, but whatever. It means I take more photos and I get to have a little record of this month! Actually, wouldn’t it be cool to do a photos challenge each month and then collect up all the pictures to make a scrapbook of your year? Nice keepsake, I think.
Here is Day 1, my view:

Horrifyingly messy living room that is driving me nuts.
I think a posting round-up of photos once a week would probably work out better, so in the mean time, follow my Flickr or Twitter for daily updates.

On Wednesdays my mum looks after my 17-month-old nephew, Tyler. Today I finally got to spend all day with them, now that classes and exams are over. Here’s some photos of what we got up to.
G’night! xo

Yup, a brand new 2011 feature! I’m participating in Project 365 this year and instead of posting a photo a day, I’m going to gather photos from my week and share them on a Sunday. I’m excited to really get stuck into this – I think it’ll be a fun way to capture more of my everyday life. There might be a lot of cell phone photos, but I make no apologies. Sometimes that’s all I’ve got and sometimes you just gotta work with that, in all its grainy glory.
For descriptions, you can check out my Project 365 set or click on the individual photo.

It’s been a couple of weeks since my post introducing our puppy, Missy. She’s doing very well, has put on weight (she was slightly underweight) and isn’t taking quite as long to eat. She’s also learning commands fairly easily and aside from the usual puppy naughtiness (i.e., running off with shoes and trying to play with our geriatric dog who’s very uninterested) she’s wonderfully behaved. She’s got the sweetest nature too! We’re all totally besotted with her, as I’m sure you can imagine. My two-year-old, animal-mad niece especially.
Anyway, without further ado, here’s a bunch of photos I took of her last week while we were playing (she’s grown a wee bit since then).

Her eyes are truly that colour, a wonderful pale steel gray-blue. And her nose is chocolate brown, like a chocolate button, hehe.

Hiding in her basket. Behind her is Teddy, a toy I gave her the day she arrived. She takes Teddy everywhere, including on walks and up the stairs.

She’s also got a chocolate dipped tail!

I love how dog faces wrinkle like that. Omigosh it makes me want to squeak.

This pup is a huge fan of tummy rubs. She flops down at your feet and rolls on her back for a tickle. This is how she greets me each morning, though she is usually also wrapped around my legs!

See that little tongue tip? Yeah, I often spy her sleeping like that, with the tip of her tongue hanging out.

Adore this photo, I just wish her face had been in the light but she was insistent on facing the way she was, lol.

I’m free!! Yesterday afternoon was my very last exam for the year and I am so stoked to be finished. I felt really good about the exam as well which is awesome. Essay exams used to make me quiver in my ballet flats but I’ve been working on getting my head around how best to prepare for them, with the help of some fabulous people, and I think it’s worked!
Anyway, I am deliriously happy right now. I’m leaving for my full body massage treat in ten minutes, then I get to come home and chill out, craft, sew – whatever I like! This afternoon our new baby, Missy, arrives as well, which is super-duper exciting. I will be sure to post photos later tonight! I can’t wait for puppy cuddles.
Here are some photos from yesterday evening, taken by the bus stop as I waited for my mama to pick me up (bus stop is like 15 minutes drive from my house…).

Currently bombarding Josh with links to Holga camera auctions. Dropping hints for our anniversary next month.

But seriously, Holga’s are just such beautiful cameras and the possibilities for each shot are so fantastic. I think it’s so easy to get used to the instant hit of digital and I haven’t played much with film, so I think it’s about time!

As I mentioned, there have been some new additions to the farm! Six little chicks! We have three yellow and three brown, but we’re not sure of their sexes yet as it’s a bit hard to tell until they’re older. Hopefully they’re mostly female because we’ve already got two roosters and don’t really need any more.

They are three weeks old now and mother hen will not start distancing herself from them for about another three weeks, at which point they will be ready to start venturing into the big wide world. The females will remain with us and free-range with the rest of the hens. Any males are likely to be found new homes.

I babysat my niece today and before nap time (hers, not mine
) I grabbed my camera to take a few shots while we played. I’m slowly becoming more comfortable with the various manual settings on my camera, though by no means am I anything but amateur! Still fun to play though.
