In Brief

For those of you who don't like reading (why are you visiting a blog?)

I'm a 21-year-old clinical psychologist-aspiring student. In my spare time I like to make things, take photos, cook, read, listen to music, blog, watch films and drink tea.

I also like coffee but not quite as much.

In A Bit of Detail

For those of you who are nosy

I'm currently studying my first year at the University of Auckland under the Bachelor of Arts programme. My major is psychology and I'm thinking of also majoring in sociology.

I've got a mum and a dad who are still together, and three much older siblings who have all reproduced. You will see photos of my nieces and nephews because I like taking photos of them more than almost anything else. I live with my parents, which is fine, but I would love to move out sometime in the nearish future.

I've also got a boyfriend. He's pretty great and sometimes I talk about him, but not much.

Anyway, I adore history and go through cycles of being obsessed with various time periods. I'm particularly fond of the 20th century, from the beginning up until about 1980, but my love goes much farther back to include ancient and pre-historic civilisations.

I Like Lists

They're handy, okay?

Other stuff you should probably know:

  • I adore music and listen to a great variety of genres. My LastFM page gives a fairly accurate account of what I've been listening to a lot.
  • I like to watch films, all sorts of films, especially ones noone's ever heard of.
  • I make stuff, all sorts of stuff. Like teddy bears, clothes, and...things.

Lastly, I will die happy if I accomplish the following:

  • Graduate university and use my knowledge well.
  • Help other living beings, human and non-human, in a variety of ways.
  • Fall in love. Real in-love, not maybe in-love or I-think-but-am-not-100%-sure in-love. The real sort. Whatever that is. After taking psychology and sociology I'm pretty sure 'love' is just a bunch of physiological and socially learned reactions to reproduction. Or something. But I still want to find someone to get wrinkly with. You know, like in the bath when you stay in too long.
  • Have my own family, in our own house, with our own quirks and traditions. Aw, mushy.
  • Travel. I will not die without seeing the world.
  • Maintain my own peace and happiness throughout all my days, through all the hard times, good times and the life that threads itself through everything.
